Saucony London Pop-Up Store
The Saucony Story Of Running
Footwear brand Saucony has opened its first pop-up store in Britain.
The American firm’s space showcases archive pieces from the 1950s to the present day alongside exclusive collaborations and collectors’ items.
Saucony, which began in 1898 in Pennsylvania, selected London’s Neal Street as the location for the exhibition and footwear store, dubbed ‘The Saucony Story of Running’.
The four-week residency will be the first chance for European customers to buy collaboration pieces and limited edition artwork.
Mark Ash, Saucony Originals’ Brand Manager, said:“We are very proud to have the opportunity to really talk about the Saucony legacy, celebrating the brand’s authentic running past… allowing us to connect with our passionate and dedicated collectors with special releases.”
Saucony has a strong history, having made boots for the first American astronaut to walk in space, military footwear for the US Army in World War II and the trainers Rod Dixon wore when he won the New York City marathon in 1983.
The label has also been behind innovations, such as the first slip-lasted running shoe, grid technology and the EVA dual density midsole.
Saucony running shoes start from £60, with the Hurricane range jumping up to £120.
The store launch coincides with the lead-up to the London Marathon. The 26-mile race takes place on Sunday 13th April, kicking off at Greenwich Park and Blackheath, South London.
