How to write to a USB flash drive?

Imagine your friend has a movie on a computer. You just need to see it, but there is no disk at hand, and there is no time to record. But if there is a flash drive, you can quickly put the necessary file on it. Also on the USB flash drive you can record not only video or audio files, but also simple text documents, for example, a thesis.

Before you write the file to the USB flash drive, you need to select the desired one, insert the USB flash drive into the USB connector on the system unit. If you have a laptop, the connector for the flash drive can be located on the side or behind the laptop. After the computer detects the flash drive, you need to check the free volume of the flash drive. To do this, open "My Computer", select the USB flash drive, right-click on it and open "Properties". There you will see how much free space is on the flash drive. After that, check the size of the file you want to throw on the USB flash drive. On it you also need to click the right mouse button, select "Properties", and you will see the size of the file.If the file size does not exceed the free volume of the flash drive, then the file can be dropped to the USB flash drive.

This can be done in the following ways:

  1. Open the flash drive window, open the file window, select the file and, holding the left mouse button on it, drag it to the USB flash drive window. After that, the file will be copied to the USB flash drive, you need to wait for it to finish.
  2. You can use the "hot" keys. To do this, select the desired file, hover the cursor on it, simultaneously press the CTRL and C (copy) keys, then move to the USB flash drive window and press the CTRL and V (paste) keys simultaneously.
  3. The third option is to select the desired file, right-click on it, then select “Copy”, then move to the USB flash drive window, click on an empty space with the right mouse button and select “Paste”.

Any of these three methods can be used to copy the desired file to the USB flash drive. Wait until the file is completely copied to the USB flash drive, and then using the "Safe Eject" you can disconnect the USB flash drive from the computer.
