How to install Windows 7
You will need
- - a computer;
- - a disk with a licensed OS;
- - driver disc.
Prepare to install Windows. Make sure that you have a licensed version of the operating system and have a product key that you will need to enter during the installation process. The key must be pasted on the box with the disc / disks, if you purchased the boxed version of the OS. If you made a purchase on the Microsoft website, the key is in the message from the company in your email inbox. Also check for a driver disc. If there is no such disk, you will have to download the drivers yourself from the Internet. To do this, go to the website of the manufacturer of the computer / laptop and find the necessary in the support section. Having a computer assembled to order or independently, you will need to visit the sites of manufacturers of all components that require drivers to work correctly.
Insert the disc with your chosen edition of Windows in the drive. If your computer / laptop does not have a drive for reading disks, prepare a bootable USB flash drive in advance. Record the system image on a USB drive of suitable size.Use for this program WinToFlash or similar. Insert the finished USB flash drive into the USB port of the computer / laptop.
Reboot the computer. Go to the BIOS and set the boot priority. Choose to boot first, the media from which you are going to install Windows. Save the settings and exit BIOS. The computer will boot from the media you selected (sometimes you will need to confirm the action by pressing any key), the installation process will begin.
Select the language in the window that appears. Click "Next". In the next window, click on the "Install" button. A window will appear with a license agreement between you and Microsoft. Read its terms and tick the box next to the “I accept the license terms” text. Click "Next" again. In the installation type selection window, click on the “Full installation” item.
Break your computer's hard drive into sections. Click on the words "Configure Disk" and use the "Create" button. Manually specify the size of the partition and click "Apply". Create a partition for a 50 GB system. The second section, designed to store your data, will take up the remaining disk space.
Highlight the partition to install and click "Next." Wait while the installer copies and unzips the files, installs the components and updates. During this time, the computer will restart. Do not press anything until a window appears asking you to enter your data. Enter your username and computer name. Further in order: enter and confirm the password, enter the serial number, select security settings, specify the time zone.
After the reboot, you will see the Windows 7 desktop. Install the drivers and set the BIOS boot from the hard disk. Installation is complete.
