How to connect the oven?

Modern kitchen is impossible to imagine without an oven. Many models of different power and design allow you to choose the oven even the most fastidious hostess. The right choice also depends on the overall style of the kitchen and the size of the kitchen unit.

Types of ovens: dependent and independent systems

Typically, the installation and connection of the oven occurs simultaneously with the installation of the hob. This happens if a dependent oven was chosen - this means that you can only turn on the oven using the hob, since it has control buttons.

Many prefer independent ovens. In this case, the hob can be gas, and the oven is electric, and their work is autonomous, they are independent of each other. Other advantages include the fact that you can install an independent oven anywhere. Also, this combination allows you to split the cooking system and use all the advantages of working with gas stoves and electric ovens.

How to connect the oven

To install the oven, you can contact the experts or do the installation yourself. If the second option is chosen, the installation work of the device should be carried out strictly according to the instructions.

Oven niche

So, you must first prepare a niche for the oven. It is necessary to control the construction level, because the smallest unevenness or bias can cause improper distribution of heat and possible equipment failure.

Be sure to provide for the presence of gaps between the walls of the niche and the walls of the oven. This is necessary for ventilation, because during work a large amount of heat is emitted from the outer surface of the cabinet. Recommended clearance dimensions: at least 0.5 cm between the side walls of the cabinet and the niche, 0.8 - 1 cm between the bottom of the cabinet and the niche and at least 0.4 cm along the rear wall.

Oven connection

One of the most important moments when connecting the oven is the laying of three-core copper wire from the power plate to the outlet of the oven. This should be done in the event that the house was laid wiring from aluminum and the house itself is quite old.

It should be remembered that if the power of the oven does not exceed 3 - 3.5 kW, then the current consumption will not be lower than the mark of 16 Amps. In this case, you need to install a separate machine for 24 Amperes in the power plate to turn on the oven. Then from it to the outlet is laid wire VVG 3 * 2.5 (VVG - single core wire) in the cable channel.

If the cabinet power is more than 3.5 kW, then the machine should be set to 40 Amps, because the current consumption will be about 32 Amps. The wire should be chosen greater thickness - VVG 3 * 4.

Next, you need to install a three-phase "euro socket" on a three-core cable. This outlet has three terminals "phase", "zero" and "earth". Ovens can have different types of power cable connections, depending on the model - this can be ordinary terminals with screws or a three-pole connector.

In the case of fastening with the help of the terminals, it is necessary to tighten the length of the three-core cable under the washers, and to install the “Euro” on the other end of the wire. As a rule, all screws and washers are labeled "phase", "zero" and "earth." Installation completed!
